Here to Help

We understand that here (and virtually) at UTM there is a lack of mental health resources and support which is why we launched the UTMSU Here to Help Program (formerly known as Peer Support Program). As an organization that prides itself in its careful consideration and concern for student wellbeing, the UTMSU Here to Help Program wants to be here to help you!

Did You Know: Roughly 1 out of 5 post secondary students live with mental health issue and face some form of distress with 11% reporting pervasive suicidal ideation throughout their undergrad. At no point in time should anyone face this type of heaviness on their own.

This program is dedicated to making sure you have access to all the available resources we know of and have across the GTA and Toronto. There’s never a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ time to seek help, and there’s never a situation that’s ‘too small’ or ‘not serious enough’. Your wellbeing is our priority, and it will always be ‘that deep’.

We are also here if you need to talk, or find someone to speak to. Even if you just want support while reaching out for assistance, we are here to help.

Note: UTMSU Here to Help services are not crisis services. If you have any questions, concerns or require any assistance please email here@utmsu.ca or president@utmsu.ca.
