Division I – Board of Directors (2 Vacancies)

Division I Candidates:

Mekayel Omier:

“I’m Syed Mekayel Omier, and I want to work with YOU to make our community stronger as your First-Year Representative. As a first year, I’ve loved UTM and the fantastic people I’ve met on campus. Our community is special due to its diversity; everyone has different backgrounds but shared goals. I believe your representative should work for you and with you. My goal is simple: help first years to find the right balance between academics and campus life, while creating many opportunities for us to get involved in. Don’t wait for change, choose it. Vote Mekayel.”

Maryam Zeeshan

Hello UTM! I’m running to be your UTMSU First-Year Rep! I know starting uni can be a lot—trying to find resources, stay on top of classes, and still have time for yourself and to have fun. I want to make things easier by advocating for more support for students to help them find balance and truly feel like they are part of the UTM community. My goal is to push for spaces that bring people together,  across faiths, cultures, and experiences so that everyone can feel seen, supported, and confident throughout the journey here at UTM. Let’s make this year be the one where we see real change!

Victoria (Shuran Kou)

“I’m running to make first year voices impossible to ignore. I want our year to feel connected, supported, and actually represented, not just talked about.”
