Sikh Heritage Week

Erindale Punjabi Association and UTMSU are collaborating for UTM’s first Sikh Heritage Week! We will be hosting numerous events on Monday, March 12th, Tuesday, March 13th and Wednesday March 14th. All profits will be donated to a local Gurdwara (Sikh temple).

Sikh Heritage Week aims to celebrate the rich tradition, contributions and aspirations of all Sikh-Canadians and develop a greater understanding and appreciation for a unique and diverse heritage.

The event days are,


Samosa and Roohafza Sale: (11am-4pm) at the Student Center
-2 Samosa ($1.00)
-1 Cup of Roohafza (Strawberry/Rose Milk) ($1.00)

Sikhi Movie Night: (6pm-8pm) at IB110
Movie: Chaar Sahibzaade (a movie focused on Sikh history and Sikh values)

Sikh Religion and Cultural Display: (11am-3pm) at CCT!


Vaisakhi Bake Sale: (11am-4pm) at the Student Center
-2 Brownies ($1.00)
-2 Samosa ($1.00)
-1 Cookie ($1.00)

Panel Discussion: (6pm-8pm) at IB110
This event will be a peer-facilitated discussion focusing on mental health in the community. There will be food and drinks!

Turban Tying and Menhdi (Henna by Twins): (11am-3pm) at CCT


Art Social Night with Guest Speaker Ginu Kaur: (5-8pm) at IB260
This event will be a one-one opportunity to speak with Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu (NDP leader Jagmeet Singh’s wife). This will be a social night filled with interaction, Punjabi culture, music, art and spoken word.
