About Uskills

The uSkills program operates under the UTMSU umbrella and offers a collection of creative sessions/lessons/seminars/ organized by clubs, academic societies and student instructors to provide the platform for UTM Students to sharpen their skills in a variety of unique and hands-on way.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED AS A STUDENT?

If you’re looking to take classes yourself, you can find many extraordinary opportunities by plugging in to our social media. Classes are added regularly and updated day-to-day to the “classes” section of this website, where you can find a full listing of classes, locations, and dates/times. Have you wanted to try out Yoga? Belly dancing? Kickboxing? Sign language lessons? Check online and see how the opportunities are endless!

By taking part in the uSkills program we can successfully run a series that will engage the student body by bringing the best out of our student community. With academics on top of our priorities list, we sometimes miss the chance to expand our creative horizons – Well not anymore!

These classes are meant to diversify your experience without taking a toll on other priorities. All student can attend these classes ABSOLUTELY FREE!

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED AS AN INSTRUCTOR?

If you possess a talent or skill that you feel needs to be brought out to the UTM community, then register by contacting the uSkills coordinator. There is no limit to potential, and possible classes can fit into a wide range of skills, talents, and hobbies.

Our goal is to provide an opportunity for students to learn how get actively engaged in teaching and running classes of their own. This program offers endless variety and opportunity, as well as the technical, administrative, and financial support you need to get started.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The skill/talent could be anything! If you think you’re really good at a skill/talent and would like others to learn, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! You can showcase a variety of special talents that are orientated around student objectives. Informational and educational classes are also a great possibility to explore! Got an idea you feel needs to be spread to the minds of the many? WE WANT YOU!
